How many has God killed?
Our God seems to have character traits that are remarkably similar to adult males that lived around 2000 years ago. According to the stories in the bible, our God is: jealous and proud of it; petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticide, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.
I say this not to mock God, but to make it obvious that the Bible was written by men who share the above character traits. No perfect being would kill someone simply because he worked on the Sabbath day for example. This is the thinking of small minded men with superiority complexes. Talk about the punishment not fitting the crime! Imagine if we started executing people for jaywalking. For example if you open your Bible and look at Numbers 15:32-36, you will read... "They found a man gathering sticks on The Sabbath Day. God commanded Moses to have the whole congregation murder the man." That poor man collecting wood on the wrong day got killed by a group of worshippers? What if he had a memory problem and simply forgot that it was the Sabbath day? Couldn't he just pay a fine, or be made to redeem his wrongful actions somehow? And whatever happened to "thou shall not kill"? I should point out that I do not believe these killings actually occured. Not to mention that all of the stories are absurd from a historical standpoint. They could not have happened the way they are told in the Bible. But what is even more damning is their unspeakable cruelty and obvious immorality. If the killings described in this book actually happened, then the God in the Bible is not the kind of God that believers pretend him to be. Anyway, along with the poor soul in Numbers 15, the table below shows how many other people have been killed by God. There are two numbers: the number given by the Bible, if any, and an estimate, when no biblical number is available. To summarize the table, the total number killed by God in the Bible is... - Using biblical numbers only: 2,821,364 - With estimates: 25 million Killing...............Event Reference................Bible's Number.............Estimated Killed 1 The Flood of Noah Gen 7:23 20,000,000 2 Abraham's war to rescue Lot Gen 14:17-19 1,000 3 Sodom and Gomorrah Gen 19:24 2,000 4 Lot's wife Gen 19:26 1 1 5 While they were sore, Dinah's brethren slew all the males Gen 34:1-31, Judith 9:2-3 2 1,000 6 Er for being wicked in the sight of the Lord Gen 38:7 1 1 7 Onan for spilling his seed Gen 38:10 1 1 8 A seven year worldwide famine Gen 41:25-54 70,000 9 There will be blood: The first plague of Egypt Ex 7:15-27 , Wis 11:7-8 10,000 10 The seventh plague: hail Ex 9:25 300,000 11 Firstborn Egyptian children Ex 12:29-30 500,000 12 The Lord took off their chariot wheels Ex 14:8-26 600 5,000 13 Amalekites Ex 17:13 1,000 14 Who is on the Lord's side?: Forcing friends and family to kill each other Ex 32:27-28 3,000 3,000 15 Aaron's golden calf Ex 32:35 1,000 16 God burns Aaron's sons to death for offering "strange fire" Lev 10:1-3 2 2 17 A blasphemer is stoned to death Lev 24:10-23 1 1 18 When the people complained, God burned them to death Num 11:1 100 19 While the flesh was still between their teeth, the Lord smote them will a very great plague Num 11:33 10,000 20 Ten scouts are killed for their honest report Num 14:35-45 10 110 21 A man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day is stoned to death Num 15:32-35 1 1 22 Korah, his companions, and their families are buried alive Num 16:27 3 9 23 God burns 250 people to death for burning incense Num 16:35 250 250 24 God kills 14,700 for complaining about God's killings Num 16:49 14,700 14,700 25 The massacre of the Aradies Num 21:1-2 3,000 26 God sent serpents to bite people for complaining about the lack of food and water Num 21:6 100 27 Phineas's double murder: A killing to end God's killing Num 25:1-11 24,002 24,002 28 The Midianite massacre: Have ye saved all the women alive? RE: How many has God killed?
To begin with
NO-ONE...... including you Mr.Devaney... .has a right to judge God No prophet ever did.... including Blessed Jesus no angel ever did And certainly no disciple ever did as Blessed James attests to in James 4:12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. It is clear that you have completed misunderstood the reason we have all been put here on earth... And that is to be tested.... For it was clear from the very beginning from the creation of Adam and Eve that there is a price to pay for our sins.. Something that you .....along with most of the World have not clearly grasped yet As clearly written in Genesis 2:17King James Version (KJV) 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. As we can clearly see from the above text Adam and Eve went from the pleasures of paradise Where they felt ....no cold and no heat Where they had no pain and no sickness Where they did not have to work to eat and drink And they had eternal life They went from all of the above luxuries to earth which our God classified as death. So it is clear from the above damning verse of Genesis 2:17 That mankind was born into death my friend. Yes we are all walking dead on this earth For we feel hunger and sickness For we have to work to earn a living And yes we have to die The only difference being is those that passed the test Such as those who followed Gods law and statutes As both Moses and Jesus Preached in Deutronomy 6:4-5 and Mark 12:29 “Hear,O Israel: The lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might. Amen. Clearly did not die a second death as Jesus prophesied in Revelations 20:14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. And those that clearly did die a second death were those same people that you have just listed for us in your posting Sadly and Tragically for both you and those like you That defy Gods will and Judge him Is that..you will all.... suffer the same fate..unless you repent and ask for his forgiveness The reality is .....No-one has learnt the lessons of the Floods and Sodom and Gomorrah For if they did .....then they would be able to clearly ascertain That God is going to kill more people because they continue to defile his name and transgress against him just as Jesus clearly pointed out to us.................. in his prophecy of Revelations 19:11-21 Heavenly Warrior Defeats the Beast 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike downthe nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”[a] He treads the winepressof the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.” 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signson its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. And... Revelation 20 New International Version (NIV) The Thousand Years 20 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. The Judgment of Satan 7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heavenand devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. The Judgment of the Dead 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Remember numbers 23:19 God is not a man that he lie Or son of man that he repent Remeber Ezekiel 18:1-4New International Version (NIV) The One Who Sins Will Die 18 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: “‘The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? 3 “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. 4 For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die. And remember Ezekiel 18:25-32New International Version (NIV) 25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust? 26 If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, they will die for it; because of the sin they have committed they will die. 27 But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life. 28 Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die. 29 Yet the Israelites say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are my ways unjust, people of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust? 30 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live! We pray to our Lord God for you to come out of the deepest darkness...... and into the light of truth which is our great God so your soul may be saved before it is too late Amen! sajih |

RE: How many has God killed?
I am not judging God. I am only stating the obvious based entireley on content from the Bible itself. Men from 2000 years ago held on to power by using fear to control the people. What better fear can exist than from an invisible all-mighty God that is ready to kill you for even the slightest infringement towards authority.
In this day & age, in the year 2015, are we still so naive as to believe that an all perfect God will kill for stupid reasons such as killing 40 children for being immature and teasing a bald man. How many of us have teased someone else as children? How many children today tease others about immature things such as being bald, being disabled, being a different race/skin color, etc.? It's a normal part of growing up and learning about respect and tolerance. Eventually we grow up and realize we were being immature and usually regret the pain that was caused by our hurtful actions. Children certainly don't deserve to die a violent death just for teasing someone, such as this passage from your very own Christian Bible... Killing mis-behaving children: From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB) Here are some more stupid reasons that God killed for... God Kills the Curious And he smote of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah, he smote of the people seventy men, `and' fifty thousand men; and the people mourned, because Jehovah had smitten the people with a great slaughter. And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us? (1Samuel 6:19-20 ASV) Killed by a Lion Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!" But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me." And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him. (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT) Killing the Good Samaritan The ark of God was placed on a new cart and taken away from the house of Abinadab on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab guided the cart, with Ahio walking before it, while David and all the Israelites made merry before the Lord with all their strength, with singing and with citharas, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals. When they came to the threshing floor of Nodan, Uzzah reached out his hand to the ark of God to steady it, for the oxen were making it tip. But the Lord was angry with Uzzah; God struck him on that spot, and he died there before God. (2 Samuel 6:3-7 NAB) Now obviously God is not so petty as to kill for these stupid reasons. What is more likely is that these are horror stories made up to put fear into people. Imagine for example, the fear that would be instilled in children when told of the story of the 40 children that were violently torn apart by bears because they teased a bald man. What child would dare tease another after seeing that story written in the Bible itself? The Bible is meant to be factual and the inspired word of God. No one is suppose to question it, but just blindly obey it. In other words, you have the perfect tool to control people using fear and bribes (i.e. death or promises of going to heaven). I'm not saying God is not real. In fact I believe in an almighty God that created the universe. I just don't believe that men from 2000 years ago had God's authority to write the Bible, and I truly beleive that they used God's name to create a book to help them keep the masses well behaved, while keeping themselves in power. This makes sense for that time because imagine how much cheaper it would be to instill fear rather than funding a police force to maintain law & order. No one steals because they will go to Hell. No one kills because it is a sin and God will punish you severely. See what I mean - it's just so much cheaper to introduce fear rather than introduce an expensive police force. Please people. Let's move on from these childish beliefs, and lets start to honor and believe the real God that loves us and hates killing. Not that blood-thirsty imposter that's depicted in the Bible, created by small-minded men of the past. |

RE: How many has God killed?
It seems to me you have the traits of your Master Saul (paul) the hypocrite.
for in your last reply you have deleted three quarters of your murder list and concentrated on what you call ..... the childish deaths. It is obvious you do not believe in God or the scriptures as Jesus our Master stated in Matthew 22:29 Jesus replied "You are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God" for if you did you would have believed what Jesus prophesied in Exodus 20:3-7 WORSHIP NO GOD BUT ME DO NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELVES IMAGES OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH OR IN THE WATER UNDER THE EARTH DO NOT BOW DOWN TO ANY IDOL OR WORSHIP IT BECAUSE I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD AND I TOLERATE NO RIVALS I BRING PUNISHMENT ON THOSE WHO HATE ME AND ON THEIR DESCENDANTS DOWN TO THE THIRD AND FOURTH GENERATION BUT I SHOW MY LOVE TO THOUSANDS OF GENERATIONS OF THOSE WHO LOVE ME AND OBEY MY LAWS DO NOT USE MY NAME FOR EVIL PURPOSES BECAUSE I THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL PUNISH ANYONE WHO MISUSES MY NAME if you bothered to meditate on the above verses and understand their true meaning then it would have served you well in understanding why those Devil worshipers that you went to the trouble of listing for us on your first posting met their terrible fate. As a nonbeliever you dismiss the act of making fun of Gods prophets as something innocent when it is clearly not. As we have witnessed only recently in our history in the tragic events of France. You are a ignorant fool with eyes that cannot see and ears that do not hear. I suggest you go back and play with your false Gods the ones that obviously make you feel more secure and more loved . And are more suited to your way of thinking For our Great God does not change as he made clear through the prophesy of Jesus himself in Malachi 3:6 "I AM THE LORD and I DO NOT CHANGE |

RE: How many has God killed?
I have not deleted three quarters of my murder list, I was simply highlighting some of the more absurd examples of God killing people for stupid reasons. As for the killing of the 42 children for making fun of a prophet - I don't care how you justify it as being not innocent, those children only needed a lesson in manners, they did not deserve to be ripped apart by bears. As a prophet, Elisha should have held himself to a higher standard, and not have gotten so angry over something as superficial as being teased about his bald head. He should have pointed to his head and laughed with the children saying something like "you are right, my head is baldy, I didn't know until now, hahahahahaha, and then given them some candy to make them happy, and then talking to them wisely & peacefully about the importance of good manners". But no, instead he had 42 innocent children killed violently using bears. Talk about a massive ego! It is even ludicrous to defend such atrocious behavior.
This argument is just academic anyway, you can't possibly believe that this story actually happened. Only a psychotic maniac would execute 42 children for making fun of his balding head. Can you imagine hearing on the news that the Pope had 42 children killed because they made fun of his balding head? There would be world-wide outrage, and he would be tried and sentenced as a mass murderer, and all those grieving parents would never forgive him for killing their children for such a stupid reason. Think about it, this is so petty to attribute to God. The Bible is asking to believe that the same God that created the universe with all those galaxies and endless stars, and created us and our sustaining planet Earth, is the same God that commanded 2 bears to kill 42 children because one of his prophets got his ego bruised and cursed them all? Wake up Sajih! |

RE: How many has God killed?
Dear Mr Gary Devaney,
These killings you write about do indeed appear to be horrible acts of cruelty. I agree with you that an almighty merciful God is not capable of killing 42 children for teasing someone about their bald head. It seems crazy just thinking about that happening. There's only one possible explanation I can think of about how such stories are in the Bible. As Sajih has taught us, the Bible has been tampered with and polluted with throughout the centuries. It could be that someone added that story to the Bible in order to use it to scare children so that they will not tease others. I admit, they went too far with the story of 42 children getting killed by bears, but it does sound like one of those stories you tell kids at camp, when everyone is sitting around the campfire at night, telling scary stories. I know personaly that this story would have scared the crap out of me if I heard it as a child, and I would never have teased anyone after hearing that story. Alas, I am very confused about the Bible. Sajih seems to have found a mechanism to tell truth from fiction when it comes to the Bible, I will have to trust what he believes about this matter. You seem like you want to believe in God, and you even state that you do believe, but you also seem to have an agenda about proving the entire Bible as false, and even entire religions as false. Why is that, may I ask? Eric |

RE: How many has God killed?
I am very confused. This Mr Devaney is making a lot of sense. I am not sure anymore about what to believe. I feel ashamed to accept the killing of 42 children because they acting like immature brats and teasing a baldy head. I pray to God that the story is fake and added to the Bible like Mr Eric said.
With Blessings, Baidu |

RE: How many has God killed?
I must say I agree with Mr. Devaney about this. It was something I figured out a long time ago, after I grew up and started thinking for myself. Throughout my entire childhood, my parents forced me to blindly accept anything that the Church and priests says. And I was happy in doing so, and I loved that God was in my life. Then when I was about 17, I had decided to read the entire bible from the first to the last page. Ironically, it was because I had done this that I started to seriously question the Bible as the true inspired word of God. I was horrified at reading so many passages that was never read to me at Church or by my parents. All those obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and tortuous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the Bible is filled. It would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness, that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel.
I am now a a grown man (34 years old) and I'm peaceful & good, not because I fear going to Hell, but because I like living like this. I don't steal only because it is wrong. I don't kill only because it is cruel and evil, and that's not my nature. I don't do anything considered sinful by the Bible, but only because I choose to live like this, not because I want to please our God or fear going to Hell. I think any normal sane person with no psychotic tendencies or mental illness would also be a good human being like me. As I got older, I had done a thorough research about the Bible. I found out how it was put together by a committee of men, and that it was not the word of God. It was derived mostly from stolen pagan sources. Garden of Eden and Adam & Eve were taken from the Babylonian accounts; its Flood and Deluge is but an epitome of some four hundred flood accounts; its Ark and Ararat have their equivalents in a score of Deluge myths; even the names of Noah's sons are copies, so also Isaac's sacrifice, Solomon's judgment, and Samson's pillar acts; its Moses is fashioned after the Syrian Mises; its laws after Hammurabi's code. Its Messiah is derived from the Egyptian Mahdi, certain verses are exact copies of Egyptian scriptures. Between Jesus and the Egyptian Horus there are over 100 similarities (virgin Mother, died on a cross, resurrected, etc), and those between Christ and Krishna run into the hundreds. Even the cross symbol itself was stolen from the pagans. The whole process was a pathetic act that should never have caught on like it did, and cursed the human race for almost 20 centuries now. Shame on Constantine and his committee. They have a lot of blood on their hands because of that book. I have also given up trying to show others that the Bible is mostly nonsense. I have tried to explain how the Bible was put together, and how the stories about Jesus were borrowed from past stories many hundreds of years before Jesus's time (like Hercules & Zeus for example). But every person that I tried to "free" from these delusions always have some outrageous excuse that keeps them cemented to their beliefs, and keeps them believing in these fairytales. For example, many of them say that the Devil has tricked us to believing all those "lies". That the Devil was the one who planted all those similar stories about the Bible and about Jesus, many hundreds of years before Jesus and the Bible was even around. Even the stuff in the bible that they don't like, is casually dismissed with such gems as "God works in mysterious ways", or "we cannot judge God, he has his reasons", or some other load of BS. And they look at me like I was evil for even questioning the Bible and Jesus. Like there was something wrong with me for not believing as they do. And they all feel sorry for me and promised to pray for me. So I gave up trying to reason with these brainwashed individuals who don't want to think for themselves. As for me, I do believe in God, I am not an atheist. I just don't believe that the Bible has anything to do with him. For that matter, I sincerely believe that all religions on Earth were created by men and do not represent God at all. An all mighty and omnipotent God just would not behave as depicted in the Bible. Any intelligent person who reads the Bible in its entirety (not just the nice stories they read at Church), will come to the same conclusion. I am not evil, and I have no agenda at all. Live and let live is how I operate now. If God wants to punish me for being a peace loving intelligent man who thinks for himself, then I'll just blame him for making me that way. Stay true to yourself, Henry Paine |

RE: How many has God killed?
It is nice to see the communication barrier been broken and people coming out into the open and given their opinions; as that is their God given right.
But at the end of the day that is all they really are. What fascinates me is the illusion some people have that God just exists without NO messengers No prophets and ironically No scriptures. I want to ask those wise people whom I respect so much,,,,,, how do you think you came into this earth. Did you fall out of a sky or just shoot up through the ground? Or perhaps you created yourselves? Anything is possible given the way you have just easily dismissed the scriptures as made up stories. If it was not for the Messengers of God his Chosen prophets that he sent to us Then How did we ever know about the story of creation the animals and the formation of the earth. Did God draw a picture scene from the sky or he just simply showed the people on earth never ending videos from the sky of,,,,,,,,,,,,,, days of our lives. At the end of the day.... all of these opinions are nothing but ........ one big illusion. Everyone here seems to have forgotten the crystal clear warnings Jesus prophesied in Exodus 20:3-7 which I will quote again for those that have misunderstood WORSHIP NO GOD BUT ME DO NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELVES IMAGES OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH OR IN THE WATER UNDER THE EARTH DO NOT BOW DOWN TO ANY IDOL OR WORSHIP IT BECAUSE I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD AND I TOLERATE NO RIVALS I BRING PUNISHMENT ON THOSE WHO HATE ME AND ON THEIR DESCENDANTS DOWN TO THE THIRD AND FOURTH GENERATION BUT I SHOW MY LOVE TO THOUSANDS OF GENERATIONS OF THOSE WHO LOVE ME AND OBEY MY LAWS DO NOT USE MY NAME FOR EVIL PURPOSES BECAUSE I THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL PUNISH ANYONE WHO MISUSES MY NAME You are in a big illusion if you believe Noahs ark and the floods never happened as well as Sodom & Gommorah I suppose the recent tragedies in our history such as you can see in the following never happened either according to your illusions . Valdivia, Chile, 22 May 1960 (9.5) This earthquake killed 1655 people, injured 3000 and displaced two million. It caused US$550 million damage in Chile, while the tsunami that it spawned caused deaths and damage as far away as Hawaii, Japan and the Philippines. The 'rupture zone' of the quake was more than 1000 km long. Two days after the initial quake, the nearby volcano Puyehue erupted, sending ash and steam up to 6 km into the atmosphere over a period of several weeks. 2. Prince William Sound, Alaska, 28 March 1964 (9.2) Compared to the Chilean earthquake, this earthquake was less damaging: the resulting tsunami took 128 lives and caused overall US$311 million in damage. The earthquake was felt mainly over Alaska, as well as some places in Canada, while the tsunami created by it caused damage as far away as Hawaii. The most damage was sustained by the city of Anchorage, 120 km north-west of the epicentre. Shaking from the quake itself is reported to have lasted for three minutes. 3. Sumatra, Indonesia, 26 December 2004 (9.1) In terms of damage and loss of life, the scale of the disaster caused by the resulting Boxing Day Tsunami was enormous. In total, 227,900 people were killed or presumed dead, with around 1.7 million displaced over 14 countries in South Asia and East Africa. The epicentre was 250 km south-east of Band Aceh, Indonesia, at a depth of 30 km. Several days later on 28 December, a mud volcano began erupting near Baratang, Andamar Islands, which is thought to have been associated with the earthquake. 4. Sendai, Japan, 11 March 2011 (9.0) So far the official death toll stands at several thousand from the combined effect of the powerful earthquake, aftershocks and the tsunami. However, the total is expected to rise, with some estimates of a final toll of over 10,000. Economic impacts are expected to be huge, with the shutting down of nuclear reactors which many industries rely on for power. 5. Kamchatka, Russia, 4 November 1952 (9.0) This earthquake generated a tsunami that caused widespread damage in the Hawaiian Islands. Property damage was estimated at around US$1,000,000. Some reports describe waves of over 9 m high at Kaena Point, Oahu. A farmer on Oahu reported the loss of six cows to the tsunami, but no people were reported killed. 6. Bio-bio, Chile, 27 February 2010 (8.8) This earthquake and subsequent tsunami killed at least 521 people, with 56 missing and 12,000 injured. More than 800,000 people were displaced with a total of 1.8m people affected across Chile, where damage was estimated at US$30 billion. The epicentre was 335 km south-west of Santiago, at a depth of 35 km. A minor tsunami travelled across the Pacific causing damage to boats as far away as San Diego, California. 7. Ecuador coast, 31 January 1906 (8.8) This earthquake caused a tsunami that is reported to have killed between 500 and 1,500 in Ecuador and Colombia. The tsunami travelled as far north as San Francisco, on the west coast of the US, and west to Hawaii and Japan. The tsunami took roughly 12 hours to cross the Pacific to Hilo, Hawaii. 8. Rat Islands, Alaska, 2 April 1965 (8.7) The worst of the damage attributed to this earthquake was caused by a tsunami, reported to be about 10 m high on Shemya Island. The wave caused flooding on Amchitka Island, causing US$10,000 in property damage. No deaths or injuries were reported. 9. Sumatra, Indonesia, 28 March 2005 (8.6) This earthquake killed 1313, with over 400 people injured by the tsunami as far away as Sri Lanka. The epicentre was 205 km north-west of Sibolga, Sumatra, at a depth of 30 km. This region, also the site of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, is particularly geologically active, with three of the 15 biggest known earthquakes having happened here. 10. Assam, Tibet, 15 August 1950 (8.6) This inland earthquake caused widespread damages to buildings as well as large landslides. 780 people were killed in eastern Tibet, with many villages and towns affected across Assam, China, Tibet and India. Oscillations to lake levels occurred as far away as Norway. The total death toll is likely to be higher, as no definitive total was ever estimated. While the earthquake itself is known as the Assam Earthquake, it is believed the epicentre may have been in Tibet. you are in an illusion to think that all the deaths of those that defied our Great God.....are just made up stories as well. I suppose the crusader war that went on for 200 years.... the genocide of the Armenians in 1915 where 1.5 million men women and children were massacred...... and the Holocaust were also made up stories according to you How foolish you are! You are even in a bigger illusion if you do not believe............... that the true word of God is in his scriptures. You say you believe in God but you refuse to listen to his word and refuse to believe in his prophets that have delivered his word. You claim to believe in God yet reject his law and his word. Anyone who does not believe in God the prophets and his law.......... is only a fool What fascinates me is that ..............you gladly accept the planted deceit by the historians on the channels of the internet as gospel And completely reject the truth that has been shown to you in the bible It seems to me you have created the image of your own imaginary God ; that suits your way of life. And that is entirely your choice and I wish you the very best of luck But remember All you have in your life is an opinion of what you want God to be for you Opinions are like Arseholes..............Everyone has got one |

RE: How many has God killed?
Dear Sajih,
I am offended at your accusations and assumptions about me. You keep falling back to Exodus 20:3-7. Here is my response to that passage: WORSHIP NO GOD BUT ME...I only Worship the one God. DO NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELVES IMAGES OF ANYTHING IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH OR IN THE WATER UNDER THE EARTH...I don't do this. DO NOT BOW DOWN TO ANY IDOL OR WORSHIP IT...I don't do this. BECAUSE I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD AND I TOLERATE NO RIVALS...I only Worship and believe in the one God. I BRING PUNISHMENT ON THOSE WHO HATE ME AND ON THEIR DESCENDANTS...I don't hate God. BUT I SHOW MY LOVE TO THOUSANDS OF GENERATIONS OF THOSE WHO LOVE ME AND OBEY MY LAWS...I love God, and I follow my concscience (which tells me right from wrong). DO NOT USE MY NAME FOR EVIL PURPOSES BECAUSE I THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL PUNISH ANYONE WHO MISUSES MY NAME...I don't do this. So there you have it Sajih, I am not violating anything from Exodus 20:3-7. I respect your beliefs and your enthusiastic spirit. However, you cannot blindly obey a man-made book just because it mentions God in it. You are confusing the Bible for the introduction of God. You asked us how we could know God if not for the Prophets and messengers telling us about him. I put it to you that long before the Bible was written, there has always been folklore and spiritual beliefs, even before spoken language existed for that matter. My only explanation for this is that God created us with an instinctual knowledge of him. He also created us with a conscience that tells us right from wrong. Why do we need a book to tell us not to kill someone or steal from someone? Our conscience already tells us that these things are wrong. Maybe God did send us angels and other messengers long ago, who told us about God and perhaps showed us miracles to prove their authority…long before the Bible was written. But I don't believe that Constantine knew about these things as it would have occured thousands of years before he was born. If Constantine and his committe showed us proof (like some fantastic miracles) that they were authorized by God to write his book, then I would believe the Bible. But what miracles did Constantine show anyone? What miracles has any Pope ever shown anyone? What miracles has any Church authority ever shown anyone? None at all. So why should we listen to them about God? After all, they are getting their information from a book full of hatred and violence and murder. Mankind has always had a connection and fascination with God. The only reason the Bible was so successful when it was published is because people already had a strong knowledge about God. Suddenly there existed an “official” book about God, a manuscript that they can read from to feel closer to God. This official God book was sanctioned by the powerful ruler Constantine, as well as all the religious leaders from the committee. No wonder it was such a smashing success. It probably would have been a crime punishable by death for anyone to ignore this book at that time. It would have died out in popularity if not for the invention of the printing press. Churches all over the world suddenly had a way of printing mass quantities of Bibles quickly and cheaply, and all the same exact copies word-for-word (some scribes made changes either by accident or intentionally). Prior to the printing press, a book had to be written by hand and took a very long time to complete, and the skilled scribes of the time were not cheap to hire. I am puzzled as to why you are confusing the Bible as being the word of God, simply because it mentions God? It was written by a cruel dictator and by a committee of fools from different sects and cults of the time (like the pagans and the druids). Many of the people on this committee were uneducated and illiterate. During this gathering, paganism was the legal religion in Constantine’s land, and Constantine himself was a pagan follower. This explains why so much from the pagan beliefs made it into Christianity (like the cross, the trinity, etc). God would consider many of the stories in the Bible about him as being evil and cruel, and not something he would approve of. For example, the killing of innocent children & animals, the raping of virgins, the numerous instances of genocide…these are not the actions of a peaceful and loving and merciful God. For anyone to blindly accept these stories simply because it is written in Constantine’s book, is a fool. I am sure that God has been deeply hurt from these sickening stories attributed to him in the Bible. For those of you that don’t believe what I just wrote, here are the Bible passages where I got the above examples from: In Joshua 6:20-21, God helps the Israelites destroy Jericho, killing “men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys. [this is genocide and cruelty]. In Deuteronomy 2:32-35, God has the Israelites kill everyone in Heshbon, including children. [this is genocide and cruelty]. In Deuteronomy 3:3-7, God has the Israelites do the same to the people of Bashan. [this is more genocide and cruelty]. In Numbers 31:7-18, the Israelites kill all the Midianites except for the virgins, whom they take so they can rape them later. [here they are saying that God gave his blessing for them to committ murder & rape). In 1 Samuel 15:1-9, God tells the Israelites to kill all the Amalekites – men, women, children, infants, and their cattle – for something the Amalekites’ ancestors had done 400 years earlier. [this is very cruel, very unjust, and more genocide]. At least you openly claim that you found evidence of the lies and pollution of the bible. But you were mistaken. You see, the whole Bible itself is a made-up collection of texts taken from the beliefs of various religions of the time. What you found was the first sign of evidence that the Bible is not sanctioned by God, and he would be ashamed of that book at the way it portrays him. I have watched your video documentary. You have conveniently dismissed parts of the Bible as being “tainted” or “polluted” by various people in the past, and you are conveniently trying to salvage the bits in the Bible that you like and accept. It is too bad you did not see the whole truth and come to the same conclusion as I did…that the Bible is a man-made book that has nothing to do with God, and does not deserve your loyalty. I know what you are probably thinking right now. That I'm a servant of the Devil and I'm trying to lure you away from God, or something along those lines. I know this because this is what others have told me when I tried to explain that they are being deceived by the Church and by the Bible. Well, I can assure you that I mean you no harm, and I don't want you to worshipp satan or kill chickens or do any evil voodoo or whatever it is that devil worshippers do. I also don't want money from you or for you to join any church or cult or anything like that. All I want from you is to just love God and do the right thing by your conscience that God has created you with. You will automatically not committ any sins simply by following your good conscience that God has given you. I will pray for you Sajih. I pray that you see the light and start thinking for yourself some more. With Love & Peace, Henry Paine |
